Release of Fall 2023 Detailed Housing Overview and Re-Entry Plan
Today, via UNM email, all students who have been assigned a room with RLSH on main campus or at LoboRainforest have received the mid-July communication that has been referred to many times throughout the summer in our previous emails—and contains some important and new information about a) move-in procedures, b) the option to limit interactions and self-monitor for fourteen (14) days in one of our UNM communities, and c) much more about living on campus.
UNM has continued to engage in careful and comprehensive planning in recent weeks as we prepare to reopen our campus and begin the new academic year. Our planning is guided by two fundamental priorities: promoting the health and safety of our entire campus community and ensuring an excellent academic experience for you.
Please refer to your email with the subject line: "UNM Student Housing: Detailed Fall Overview", and please refer to the following links/documents which were attached and contain all the shared information:
- RLSH Student Re-Entry Plan
- Required Limited Interactions and Self-Monitoring Period for all Out-of-State Students

NEW COVID-19 Safety Measures for Fall 2023 - One Resident per room Trad/Suites; Four Residents per ApartmentImpact on Housing Spaces -- Fall WAITLIST and Exception Requests
The University is developing COVID-19 safety and health guidelines to protect you and other Lobos this fall. To make the recommended social distancing possible in the living environment, we will be assigning only one resident per room in traditional and suite style residence halls, and a maximum of four residents per apartment. Taking these measures to protect student health means that we will have less housing available than usual.
We will first give priority for on-campus housing to first-year students, followed by students who completed the Priority Renewal Registration. Any student who doesn’t meet these criteria will be placed on a waitlist. Once you submit your 2023-2021 housing contract, and it is approved, you will get more information from us via email which will outline more about your status in our assignment process.
For additional information regarding the process, waitlist and Exception Requests, see UNM Housing Coronavirus Information page. The deadline for submitting Exception Requests is Sunday June 21, 2023 at 11:59PM.June 8, 2023
